Somatic, Trauma-Informed Healing
Hi, I’m Meaghan. Since 2012, I’ve been helping adults, teens, and families move through mental health crises, life adversity, and transitions.
Even when you’re at your lowest, you’re not broken. When you’re feeling weighed down, it’s often because your body is doing its best to protect you—stuck in survival states like fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown. These responses are natural in times of stress, but when they persist, they can limit your ability to feel grounded, connected, and fully yourself.
You might experience this as PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic anger, feeling trapped, difficulty slowing down, addiction, ADHD, chronic pain or panic attacks. They experiences can put us into absolute misery, so what do we do?
In our work together, I use Somatic Experiencing (SE)—a gentle, body-centered approach to psychotherapy—to help your nervous system release old patterns of trauma and restore flow and ease. I also integrate attachment theory, parts work, and relational approaches to create a therapy experience that works with all aspects of you.
Invest in your emotional wellbeing
Anxious? depressed? Angry? Navigating emotional states can be tricky and sometimes confusing. At times, we may not know why we feel what we feel. I I can help you better understand why certain emotions are coming up, how to process them, and connect more deeply with that they are trying to tell you.
Support your struggling teen
Helping our children navigate the ‘troubled’ teen years is no easy task! It’s common for teens to push parents away, and yet this is the time when they need them most. The complex behaviors of teens require patience, compassion for oneself, and often, outside help. I provide sessions for teens and tweens, as well, as supportive sessions for parents.
Let go of your past
Difficult childhoods of often follow us into adulthood. Traumas get ‘trapped’, or ‘stuck’, in our bodies when we didn’t have a way to safely discharge them, (that’s most of us!). You may feel intense emotions boil up—-like sadness, anger or depression or you may feel like you’re stuck or numb. If this is you, then chances are your body is holding onto some stuff that isnt serving you.
